Thank you to everyone who made the first Hay Ale & Literature Festival a success!
If you missed this year's festival this is what you missed out on:
Comments on the festival 2010 "Beer and books, what more could you ask for? The Hay on Wye Ale & Literary Festival is a genius idea and can only go from strength-to-strength." Melissa Cole - Beer Writer This was a magnificent festival in a beautiful part of the country held at the gloriously comforting and welcoming Kilvert’s, where dozens of beers from both North and South Wales attested to the great strides the brewing community of my home country have made in the past few years. Brecon’s Cribyn was the worthy winner of beer of the festival: a light and delicate blonde bombshell of an ale, the perfumy lilt of fresh tropical fruit on the nose while a firm and snappy biscuity backbone in the mouth was balanced by more of these light but persistent tropical fruit notes; the dry finish with its fruity sheen encouraged my inner Oliver Twist: please sir can I have some more. See you next year! Adrian Tierney-Jones, author 1001 Beers |
